The Canary Islands are such a fascinating place for winegrowing! The soils here are intensely volcanic so the wines have a very distinct mineral, vaguely sulfuric note upon opening, but give them some time in a decanter and you get all of this ripe, beautiful fruit and salinity. Bodegas Vinatigo was founded by Juan Jesús Méndez who wanted to preserve, and sometime resurrect the native varieties of Tenerife and showcase this unique landscape!
