DOCG status Fiano from Campania. This vineyard is 2-300ft above sea level on volcanic/clay soil just east of Mt. Vesuvius. Fiano is originally from Greece but has thrived in this area since the 9th century and was once considered the most important white wine of Italy. Spends one year in steel tanks then one year in bottle before release. Vibrant salty ripe stone fruit. This makes for a very versatile food pairing from oysters to pork dishes. –
