Timorasso was nearly extinct before producers like Claudio Mariotto decided to champion it. Most Piedmont producers opt for the easier to manage Cortese- but Timorasso can develop so much more flavor and richness if farmed properly. The Mariotto’s don’t use any fertilizers herbicides or other systemic treatments only spraying when absolutely necessary. The wine spends one year on the lees and then an additional year in bottle before release. The result is a powerful white with stones for days almond blossom chamomile stony textural finish. Gorgeous wine!
