Sixth-generation Sicilian family- now led by brothers Franco and Gianni Calcagno with his daughter Giusy has been growing grapes on the North side of Mount Etna for a long time but it was not until 2006 that they decided to bottle their own wine under their name. The farming is all organic and they’re working with 70-90 year old vines in deeply volcanic soil. This rosé is a blend of 90% Nerello Mascalese 10% Nerello Cappuccio spends 6 months in stainless steel then at least 3 months in bottle before release but typically much longer. Absolutely gorgeous mineral-driven rosé. This is perfect for lunches on the patio with prosciutto and melon or paella.
