Sixth-generation Sicilian family, all organic farming with 40-60 year old vines. Though the Calcagno family has been growing grapes for over 100 years, it wasn’t until 2006 that they decided to make and bottle their own wine. The ‘Ginestra’ is made from 95% Carricante and 5% Grecanico grown on Mount Etna at over 2,700ft elevation. The wine ferments and ages in stainless steel and stays on the lies for 6-8 months before bottling. Super bright, fresh lemon, and lots of salty minerality. Delightful!
