This is one of Jacques favorite wines in the store! Our softer- less “crisp” wines often get ignored over the high-acid whites like Sauvignon Blanc or Riesling but these wines have so much to offer!The St. Antony winery was established just after WWI and now looks after some of the top vineyard sites in the Rheinhessen. As of 2006 everything was converted to organic farming and then by 2018 to biodynamics; both incredibly difficult because of the climate and the extreme steep slopes of the vineyards. Working these sites must be done entirely by hand and at no small risk to the workers; a real labor of love. Though Germany is most famous for their Rieslings other white varieties thrive here especially on the red slate soils of this area. This mineral-driven Pinot Blanc shows notes of delicate white flowers fresh pear and a soft creamy finish on the palate. Try this with scallops roasted root vegetables or a baked chicken dish!
