This is the last thing you’d expect coming out of the largely very traditional region of Bordeaux, but Olivier Cazenave likes to buck the trends. On top of that he is also farming his vineyards entirely with Biodynamic practices (meaning he goes beyond organic and treats the entire estate as an ecosystem, encouraging local flora and fauna). The ‘Bel a Ciao’ is 100% Semillon that spends 3 weeks on its skins giving it this fun orange color. If you’ve never had one, this is a great introduction to skin-contact/orange wine! Notes of herbs, dried grasses, navel orange, and apricot. Would be delicious with Middle Eastern food.
