From the legendary Nicolas Joly and familly and the equally legendary site of ‘Coulée de Serrant’ a beautiful, sun-drenched amphitheater-shaped Chenin Blanc vineyard in the village of Savennières. This site was first planted by the Cistercian monks in the 12th century and the wines quickly became renowned among the royalty of France. When Nicolas Joly became the steward of this famous site he adopted the once unpopular practice of Biodynamic farming (despite his more conventional neighbors protesting) believing it to be the best way to preserve the land and create the most expressive, long-lived wines. This wine is absolutely made for the long-haul. You will be pleasantly rewarded for waiting as long as you can bear as these wines continue to evolve for 10, 15, 20+ years.
