Sylvain Pataille is pretty legendary in Burgundy and makes a small, highly allocated amount of wine, mostly based in the village of Marsannay. The Bourgogne Aligoté utilizes Burgundies lesser known white grape (Aligoté) but with the same great farming and impeccable winemaking for a fraction of the price. This is why I always get excited to receive some because its a great value for Burgundy and nice introduction to his style with is balanced between precise, with bright acidity, and generous fruit, and for the Aligoté a little salty, mineral quality.
