The Chevrot family has been making wine in the lesser-known village of Maranges, the southernmost village of the Cotes de Beaune, since 1830. The Chevrot’s are actually one of the founding members of ‘Les Aligoteurs’ as a holder of some of the oldest vines of Aligoté, with the mission to promote the value of this ‘secondary’ grape of Burgundy. This cuvée comes from 4 parcels planted between 1970-1984, two on gravel and two on sandstone giving the wine a flinty, smoky quality.
