Kobal is located in lower Styria region of Slovenia with very steep sloping, old vineyards. Though this is an Italian grape variety it has existed here for centuries and in the northern Italian style, they make theirs as a Ramato- meaning it ferments with the pink grape-skins giving it color and a bit of tannin. A great alternative to rosé when you want something a little more savory and has a beautiful coppery color in the glass! This year the Kobal is fully ripe and juicy, perfect with salmon dishes, cream sauces, or goat cheeses.
