Kobal is located in lower Styria region of Slovenia with very steep sloping- old vineyards. Though this is an Italian grape variety it has existed here for centuries and in the northern Italian style they make theirs as a Ramato- meaning it ferments with the pink grape-skins giving it color and a bit of tannin. A great alternative to rosé when you want something a little more savory and has a beautiful coppery color in the glass!
