‘Kelby James Russel has been making a name for himself for years now up in the Finger Lakes region of New York. He got his start at the Fox Run Winery where he met his partner Julia Rose Hoyle, before moving on to become the head winemaker at Red Newt Cellars and then ultimately the two of them opened their own winery, Apollo’s Praise. .The name is a reference to ‘Glorious Apollo’ which Kelby performed with his college Glee Club and encapsulates his love of music and wine. This rosé is 100% Cabernet Franc from fellow sustainable farmer, Peter Martini, on Seneca Lake. The fruit spends a few days macerating giving it this lovely darker color, but also a great deal of savory herbal qualities with a completely dry finish. This is a great wine for pork dishes, grilled salmon or veggies, or any picnic fare.
