We are big fans of the Stolpman Vineyards for their consistently tasty, well-balanced wines, and even bigger fans of their sustainable approach not just to how they farm, but also how they have supported the community and given oppportunites to their vineyard workers. Situated in Ballard Canyon they benefit from beautiful limestone soils, cool Pacific air, and warm days followed by cool nights. For ‘Love you Bunches’ their Sangiovese is fermnted carbonically (sealed in a tank so the juice inside each grape ferments and then bursts!). This avoids creating an overly tannic or rustic expression, instead they are able to the grapes early and make a light, fresh, juicy red that doesn’t need years in barrel or bottle. Try this after chilling for ~30 min with eggplant parmesan, cherry tomato panzanella, or wood-fire pizza!
