Matthew Sanford leads the cellar at the Rose Hill Farm in the Hudson valley where he is committed to using either estate-grown fruits (ranging from apples, blueberries, plums, to peaches), foraged ingredients, or local fruit from like-minded, low-intervention farmers. Along came Sam Rogers who relocated from the Bay are where they had been working in all aspects of the wine business before training in both viticuluture and vinification at several sites around the wine world. Now they help with the winemaking at Rose Hill where the two of them strive to be as low-waste as possible and use little to no additions. ‘Don‘t Hang Up’ is 100% Merlot from two sites in the North Fork of Long Island fermented in steel to keep it bright and fresh.
