Railsback Frères is a relatively new project- started in 2015 by brothers Lyle and Eric who wanted to create their version of a beautiful Bandol-esque rosé from California. Eric has been making wine in Santa Barbara for some time now and when he found some great Rhone varieties available in Santa Ynez reached out to his brother to start the project. One of those varieties is Carginan which makes us this ‘Cuvée Speciale’ with fruit from a single vineyard the Tommy Town Thoroughbreds located in the Happy Canyon AVA. Made with partial carbonic then aged for 5 months in neutral barrels. Bright fresh red-fruited and spicy a great match for BBQ meatloaf or mushroom dishes.
