Peterson has been making wine in Dry Creek Valley for over 30 years now. Their Cabernet Sauvignon cuttings actually come from the famous Mount Eden Vineyards f (originally brought from Chateaux Margaux). For the ‘Mountain Estate’ Cabernet, entirely from their own vineyard planted in the 1980’s on the 1264ft peak of Bradford Mountain, they use a blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot. The wine ages for around 2 years in 25% new French oak barrels, the rest older or neutral oak barrels. Rich, velvety, dark plum, blackberry, spice, and a kiss of vanilla.
