Lieu Dit was created by winemaker Justin Willet who was inspired by this french term meaning ‘named place’ to connote a vineyard site that had developed a reputation for special/unique wines. With that in mind, Justin works with fruit from great small growers in the Santa Barbara area. This cuvée comes from the Santa Ynez Vineyard in Happy Canyon where the climate is cooler than some of the more well-known ‘hot spots’ for Cabernet in California like Napa Valley. Between this and Justin’s light hand in the cellar, the wine is nicely balanced with refreshing acidity making it a great anytime Cabernet whether it’s a summer BBQ or a cozy steak dinner mid-winter.
