This is old-school Napa wine at its finest! The Keenan estate was founded in 1974 in a prime hillside spot on the famed Spring Mountain. Now run by three generations of the Keenan family and it remains a tiny operation with a year-round team of 7 people and a production of around 12-000 cases/year. Almost all of their wine is made from estate fruit including this single vineyard Cabernet Franc from their highest elevation site and latest picked the Upper Bowl Vineyard. They now practice no-tilling instead rotating cover crops almost no sprays are used at all (except a little bit of organic sulfur) and most importantly all of their vines are dry-farmed. This is fully ripe Cabernet Franc showing more roasted shishito pepper than snappy green bell pepper and has plush powdery tannins that will be excellent with steak but could also be a great pairing for pork chops or something a little leaner.
