Halter Ranch is situated on the Western-most edge of Paso Robles with only 10% of their 2,700 acres used for farming, the rest left to nature’s own devices. In addition to growing grapes they also grown walnuts and olives, all of which are certified organic farming. On top of this, the winery is completely solar powered, and all of the water used comes from their custom rainwater catching system. The CDP, a play on Chateauneuf-du-Pape and ‘Cotes-du-Paso’, is a sumptuous. savory blend of 60% Grenache, 22% Syrah, 10% Tannat, and 8% Mourvedre. Rich, velvety, peppery, and really nicely balanced.
