Field Recordings was created by winemaker Andrew Jones whose day job is as a vine nursery fieldman working with small farmers across the Central Coast. Because the great relationships he has developed he gets to work with some of the best fruit in the region! For ‘Franc’ in 2021 he is using 100% Cabernet Franc from 2 vineyards in Paso Robles, both farming organically, one certified. The fruit is kept 50% whole cluster then spends 7 months in neutral American (80%) and French (20%) oak barrels. Ripe, juicy California sunshine, making this decidedly not green, vegetal, but plummy, raspberry, with allspice and star anise. A perfect wine for BBQ sauce.
