Enfield Wine Co. was created by winemaker John Lockwood and his wine Amy Seese after having worked at several very prestigious California wineries such as Littorai and Failla- and this high-quality education really comes through in their elegant wines. Though the ‘Pretty Horses’ bottling is meant to drunk young that does not mean it lacks in depth and complexity. Fruit is blended from the Shake Ridge Ranch and the Rorick Heritage Veinyard with roughly 60% Tempranillo 27% Garnacha 13% Graciano and a kiss of Mourvèdre. 50% is left as whole clusters giving it grip and herbaceousness to balance the juicy red and black fruits and a touch of spice on the finish.
