The ‘Silice’ vineyard sits on the sandy bench that runs through the Chehalem Mountain AVA where the sand runs over 30ft deep without hitting bedrock, meaning these vines really have to dig deep in order to reach water. The result is a wine with finely grained tannins, and rich concentration of flavor, but without the weightiness of something more ripe.
