Pedro Rodriguez- the winemaker for Guimaro comes from a long line of farmers and vintners working in the Amandi area of Ribera Sacra which sits at the North-West corner of Spain close the Atlantic ocean. He still maintains those traditions passed down from generations by farming organically using wild yeast fermentations foot-stomping the grapes and using very little sulfur as the only additive. The ‘Tinto’ comes from an old vineyard site mostly planted to Mencia with a small amount of native local varieties. Pleasantly earthy like freshly turned soil and moss with ripe raspberry juice.
