This is an amazing project in South Africa created to build up the Black community in Khayelitsha. Despite the overwhelming majority of Black citizens in South Africa- they still make up a miniscule amount of the winemakers. Having risen through the ranks of Cape Town’s craft beer & wine scene in the front of house Lindile Ndzaba set out to make the kind of high-quality wine found in the city’s best wine bars available to his home neighbourhood of Khayelitsha. Partnering with winemakers from across the Cape Lindile aims to bring wine culture to underserved parts of the city in a locally-focused and community-oriented way. – This blend is 60% Syrah 20% Malbec 20% Pinotage from certified sustainable vineyards in the Polkadraai Hills of Stellenbosch. Fermented and aged in old French oak barrels this is a bold juicy red with a touch of earthiness.
