This bottling is essentially a declassified Brunello- but because the vineyard is above the allowable elevation (this site sits at almost 2000ft) it cannot be bottled as ‘Brunello’ making it an incredible value. This site is farmed biodynamically and tended with a light touch in the cellar. Really pretty on the nose with notes of rosemary fresh cherry red plum and forest floor. The high elevation and use of old Slavonian oak make this a brighter softer style of Sangiovese Grosso (clone of Sangiovese grown in Montalcino).
