This is Chianti Classico with an attitude; dark- brooding. The Caparsa estate sits at an unusually high elevation (by Tuscan standards) and the plot for this bottling faces North-West so it stays much cooler than most Chianti vineyards and the vines here dig deep tapping in to ancient volcanic deposits. The result is a that is concentrated wild cherry and raspberry with dried herbs and a ferrous undertone.
