Rustic and chewy in the best way! This is Sagrantino at it’s more refined, which still means it has some powerful tannins, but after 7 years of age it’s starting to soften and integrate. Notes of fresh moss, soft herbs, stewed and dried black cherry which conjures the “dark soil” that the name “Terra Cupa” refers to. Could definitely cellar this bottle for another 10 years or more, but I think it will be an excellent match for steak with rosemary butter or earthy mushroom dishes.
