Do not sleep on this wine just because it’s a Langhe- this is high-quality Barolo/Barbaresco in disguise! The fruit for the Roagna Langhe comes from “younger” vines (the old vines are up to 100 yrs old) from two of their most prized vineyards Pira (Barolo) and Paje (Barbaresco) and it ages for 5 years in neutral steamed (rather than charred) barrels. This has all the depth and complexity of significantly higher priced Barolo’s at a fraction of the cost. Only 1 case available for the year.
