Giulia Negri has recently become extremely popular after an appearance on Stanley Tucci’s Italian travel show, so the wines are now highly allocated. When Giulia decided to become a winemaker she was entering a real boys club, but she was determined to forge her own path and not follow the conventional practices of the time, opting for less extraction and new oak. ‘La Tartufaia’ is a beautiful truffle forest in the heart of La Morra where Giulia’s vineyards run parallel. The wines produced here, from clay-rich soil, have plush, rounded tannins, vibrant red fruits, rose, and a savory, umami quality that speaks to the truffles surrounding it.
