This tiny appellation of Diano d’Alba is stuck right inside the borders of Barolo- but was originally deemed too high in elevation and thus too cool to ripen Nebbiolo enough to be considered ‘Barolo-worthy’ but with the warming climate this area is now highly sought-after and is considered a DOCG in its own right. This is where Dolcetto reigns supreme is treated with as much care as their Barolo neighbors treat their prized Nebbiolo. The ‘Sori Bruni’ is a single vineyard Dolcetto that shows great depth and concentration notes of fresh damp soil wild red fruits and garrigue. A really elegant expression of this often overlooked variety.
