Elena Fucci is quickly becoming a legend in the Southern Italian wine world! After nearly selling the family estate- Elena convinced her family to put her in control and give winemaking another shot. Working solely with Basilicata’s most famous grape Aglianico del Vulture and just one vineyard at the base of Mount Vulture she is now winning awards for the quality of her wines including the coveted ‘Tre Bicchieri’. Ordinarily this grape creates big hearty rustic and quite tannic wines but for this cuvée ‘Verha’ she manages to coax out the softer more playful side of the variety perfect for the beginning of spring where we transition away from heavier meals and wines. A great pairing for BBQ spicy charcuterie and lamb chops.
