This is not quite the Montepulciano that you remember, this is a much more vibrant, less rustic expression. Colle Florido sits squarely between the Adriatic Sea and the mountains of the Gran Sasso National Park giving it a unique micro-climate. The wine goes through a brief time on the skins for a less tannic feel and ages for one year in large neutral barrels. Juicy, stewed black cherry, a sprinkle of herbs, and soft, gentle tannins.
