Ar.Pe.Pe is a trailblazer up in the Orobic and Retic Alps just south of Switzerland. This 100% Chiavennasca (local name for Nebbiolo) comes from 50-100 year old vines- macerated for several months on the skins somehow making the tannins incredibly delicate. Aged for 5 months in giant barrels and concrete tanks. The high altitude and cooler climate of this region makes this very light and fresh for nebbiolo bright red fruits a touch of rose on the nose. Best to drink a bit chilled!
