In 1804 the Bitouzet family settled in Volnay and have been making classic, expressive, beautiful Pinot Noirs ever since. The wines, however, like most of Burgundy continue to get more expensive, which is where the fantastic value of ‘Bourgogne Passetoutgrains’ comes in! This is a blend of Pinot Noir and Gamay from some very old vines planted in 1974 and 1953 respectively. It spends a year in small barrels and has the same elegance and complexity of some of their 1er cru wines for a fraction of the cost. A delicious spring wine!
