Somehow the vineyards for Chateau le Puy have been completely organic since they were planted- and today are certified Biodynamic which is unheard for an estate of their size. They also prefer to make their wines as naturally as possible and for this bottling use no new oak at all only used barrels for two years before it is released. The vineyards sit just north of St. Emilien in what is technically the Cotes de Francs but sits on the same plateau and at the same elevation as St. Emilien and Pomerol. The blend is roughly 85% Merlot) 6% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Cabernet Franc from 50+ year old vines.
