La Garagista is ushering in a new era for hybrid varieties in the US. Their farm/winery up in Vermont is paving the way for today’s winegrowers to embrace these once shunned varieties because they are climate-hardy and, in the right hands, make beautiful wines. This champagne-method white from their West Addison vineyard is only made in the best years, and this version blends La Crescent grapes from 2021 and 2022 which aged in amphora made from Lake Champlain clay. The wine then rests on the lees for a further 2 years before release.
