Roero is one of the unsung heroes of Piedmont making wines of equal quality (sometimes even better) than their famous neighbors in Barolo and Barbaresco- but without the name recognition. In the 1970’s the Malvira estate shifted their focus from bulk production to terroir-focused etstate bottlings and also converted their farming to organics. Today they make a full range of beautiful Nebbiolo the white Arneis and this rarity stateside a Brachetto Lungo del Roero. Fully sparkling rose with notes of fresh strawberries and rose petals delightfully off-dry drink with strawberries and cream or as a refreshing aperitif with proscuitto and creamy cheeses.
