Broadbent was created in 1996 in an effort to reintroduce this once beloved wine to the US (a favorite of the founding fathers!). The legend of ‘Rainwater’ style says a barrel was once left at the port in the rain and slightly diluted the Madeira making it lighter. The toasty, baking spice and caramel notes of Madeira marry so well with baked goods and nutty cheeses.
