Determined to bring back the illustrious reputation of Pennsylvania Rye, Herman Mihalich, whose family had run a Pennsylvania bar for generations, and his friend John Cooper created the Dad’s Hat Distillery utilizing locally grown rye, a mix of modern and traditional distillation methods, and locally-blown PA glass bottles. Today their grains come exclusively from the Mease Family Farm in Bucks County who have been farming their since 1716! The Dad’s Hat mash is 80% rye, 15% barley malt and 5% rye malt aged for at least 6 months in new, charred quarter casks.
