Leopold Bros is a small family run distillery in Colorado making spirits from locally grown grains- malting distilling aging on site and never using any additives all incredibly rare in the Bourbon world. This 8 year old Bourbon is a really special bottling that has incredible concentration from the long aging leading to quite a bit of evaporation. When they were tasting it initially they felt like it wasn’t quite ready so the whiskey spends some time finishing in their Three Chamber Rye whiskey barrels for a pleasantly peppery kick to balance the creamy caramel flavors.
