David Fletcher is a bit on an anomaly in Piedmont. Originally from Australia, he fell in love with Nebbiolo and this Northern Italian region where he went to intern at the famous Barbaresco winery, Ceretto. He decided to move his family here and set up shop. He purchased an abandoned train station in Barbaresco and started working vineyards organically, or purchasing fruit from other organic farmers. Ultimately he added a classic Italian aperitif to his lineup with the ‘Acobia’ bitter based with the local Arneis grape and 13 herbs and botanicals, colored with a natural red vegetable extract. Powerfully bitter and flavorful, this makes an excellent negroni!
